Polar Bears Silence Nor'Easters 3-0 in Women's Soccer

Julia Patterson scored two of Bowdoin's three goals against UNE
BIDDEFORD, Maine – Julia Patterson scored a pair of goals for the Bowdoin women's soccer team as the Polar Bears downed host University of New England 3-0 on Tuesday evening.
The Polar Bears climb to 4-2 and snap a three game win streak for UNE (6-3).

How It Happened
  • Patterson put Bowdoin on top with 3:42 remaining in the first half, converting on the Polar Bears' 11th shot of the opening frame to go ahead 1-0. Sarah Wallace fed Patterson with a through pass and the first-year made a few quick moves before burying the inside shot.
  • Kiersten Turner made the game 2-0 in the 78th minute after finishing off a ball from Jamie Hofstetter. Hofstetter's pass from midfield, up the middle, allowed Turner a two-touch move before slotting a shot past Brielle Robinson.
  • Bowdoin went ahead 3-0 with under seven minutes to play as Patterson headed in her second goal of the game. Maggie Godley served Patterson from the right, allowing her to elevate and head in her fifth goal of the season.
  • Robinson made 13 saves in a complete game performance for UNE. Bridget McCarthy made six saves to earn her third shutout of the season.
  • Bowdoin outshot the Nor'Easters by a 25-9 margin.
