AUGUSTA – Maine employers looking to hire and job seekers looking for work can connect at the Maine CareerCenters' Spooktacular Virtual Hiring Event on Friday, Oct. 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The free, interactive online event gives employers an opportunity to showcase their businesses, promote job openings and connect directly with candidates. This virtual option
gives job seekers a different way to meet employers from across Maine and beyond from a computer or mobile device, reducing transportation and child care barriers."Virtual hiring events offer a convenient way for Maine employers and job seekers to connect, regardless of where they are," said Maine Department of Labor Commissioner Laura Fortman. "These events give employers another way to reach potential employees and help job seekers explore opportunities that match their skills and interests."
Job seekers can visit virtual employer booths, upload resumes, chat live with hiring representatives and apply for jobs directly through the event platform. Participants can also collect materials in a virtual swag bag to receive by email for easy reference.
Employers can customize virtual booths to highlight their businesses and job openings, connect with candidates through instant messaging, audio or video calls, and receive resumes and applications directly through the platform. Participating employers must have an active Maine JobLink account and post their job vacancies. Booth availability is limited.
Both employers and job seekers must register to participate. To learn more and register, visit Maine's Spooktacular Virtual Hiring Event.
