Bowdoin Sweeps Bates to Win Fourth Consecutive Match

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team closed out a perfect weekend at the Midcoast Classic with a 3-0 sweep of Bates on Saturday afternoon at Morrell Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears have won four straight games and improve to 6-3 while the Bobcats dip to 4-6 with the loss.

How It Happened
  • Bowdoin claimed the win by set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-12
  • Christy Jewett put home 15 kills and had nine digs for the Polar Bears.
  • Erika Sklaver had 13 kills and just one error to go with a pair of blocks in the victory.
  • Lisa Sheldon chipped in 11 digs while Quincy Leech had 34 assists for the Polar Bears
  • Bates was paced by nine kills from Chandler McGrath while Hannah Tardie had 10 assists.
  • Laryssa Schepel (nine digs) and Tardie (eight kills) led the Bobcats defensively.

  • Bates will return to action next Friday at Williams (8:00 p.m.)
  • Bowdoin will host Colby in a Wednesday night non-conference match at Morrell Gymnasium (7:00 p.m.)
