Women’s Cross Country Competes as Split Squad on Saturday

BOSTON, Massachusetts – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country posted a 12th place finish on Saturday at the 47th Annual Codfish Bowl and an 8th place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational.

Charlette Bradley (Slidell, La.) led the Mariners with a 148th place finish, among 161 runners with a time of 27:00 on the 5k course. Jessica Faltings (Northport, N.Y.) placed 150th, followed byCaroline Martin (Scarborough, Maine) in 151st, Hannah Page (Hutchinson, Kan.) in 156th and Alice Stenquist (Bath, Maine) in 157th.

Tufts University claimed the team victory, and Tuft's Alice Wasserman grabbed the individual victory with a time of 19.01.

In Brunswick, Maine the Mariners finished 8th out of 10 teams at the Bowdoin College Invitational. Robyn Larrabee (Caribou, Maine) led the way for the Mariners with a 44th place finish among 116 runners, with a time of 26:32 on the 6k course. Sierra James (Campton, N.H.) finished 57th, followed by Julia Dillon (Norway, Maine) in 72nd, Mary Shea (Brownfield, Maine) in 93rd and Gabrielle Wells (Kittery, Maine) in 105th.

Bowdoin took the team victory with five of the top six finishers. Sarah Kelley placed first with a time of 23:14.3.

The Mariners return to action in two weeks, on October 11th at the Runnin' Monks Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College.
