BOSTON, Massachusetts – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country posted a strong 6th place showing on Saturday at the 47th Annual Codfish Bowl and a 10th place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational.
Chase Hughes (Yarmouth, Maine) was the top finisher for the Mariners in 37th, among 81 runners, with a time of 29:26 on the 8k course. Spencer Boonstra (Amston, Conn.) was close behind in 39th while Victor Skorapa (Freeport, Maine) placed 49th, Paul Ferreira (Castine, Maine) in 55th and Seth Tacheny (Dixfield,
Maine) in 60th.
Thomas Toth was the overall winner, while Greater Boston Track Club took the team victory.
At the Bowdoin Invitational in Brunswick, Maine, the Mariners placed 10th as a team, led by Tristan Brown (Ogunquit, Maine) who placed 77th overall, among the 138 runners, with a time of 30:41 on the 8k course. Drew Cyr (Sanford, Maine) finished 82nd, Nate Fitzpatrick (Brewer, Maine) in 103rd, Anthony Boucher (Byron, Maine) in 108th and Jacob Larsen (Dixfield, Maine) in 109th.
Bowdoin's Bridger Tomlin was the race winner, with a time of 26.02.4, and Colby College took the team win.
The Mariners return to action in two weeks on October 11th at the Runnin' Monks Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College.
