BANGOR, Maine - Husson dropped a 5-0 decision to defending USCAA national champion Maine-Fort Kent on Tuesday afternoon at Boucher Field. The Eagles suffer just their second loss in 11 games against the Bengals.
Maine-Fort Kent (11-2) scored first in the 17th minute when Catherine Bruno went top shelf from 25 yards out. The Bengals scored again in the 27th minute when Marie-Laurence Montagne found the back of the net on a breakaway. Montagne made the score 3-0 in the 33rd minute.
Katherine Ferland, with an assist by Emma Ashby, scored in the 49th minute, before Kayla Richards found the back of the net in the 56th minute for the final tally.
Taylor Fortin had two shots and one shot on goal for Husson (3-5-1).
Netminder Peighton Ahlberg recorded one save in the win.
Goalkeeper Kayla Gordon made 19 saves in defeat.
Husson resumes NAC play Saturday when the Eagles host Johnson State (Vt.) at 4 p.m. ET.
