Luke Tercek won five matches to reach the finals of the ITA New England Regional |
How It Happened
- Tercek posted the second-best finish ever by a Polar Bear at the tournament, as current teammate Luke Trinka won the title as a sophomore in 2013.
- Tercek was outstanding, entering the bracket unseeded and winning five matches to reach the final including four straight-set wins.
- He knocked off ninth-seeded Palmer Campbell of Middlebury (6-3, 6-1) and fourth-seeded Ari Smolyar of Middlebury (6-1, 6-4) during his run
- He cruised in his semifinal match against Alex Cauneac of MIT (6-0, 6-2) before falling in a hard-fought final to third-seeded Noah Farrell of Middlebury (7-6 (4), 6-1).
- Kyle Wolfe also won a pair of matches to reach the third round of the tournament
- In doubles action, Bowdoin's duo of Wolfe and Jerry Jiang made an excellent run, capturing a trio of victories to advance to the semifinals before falling to the eventual champions, Solimano/Revzin of Amherst.
- Bowdoin will return to action on the weekend of October 10 when they compete at the Wallach Invitational hosted by Bates.
