Likhanskaia and Cheng Reach Finals of ITA New England Regional

MIDDLEBURY, Vermont - Bowdoin's doubles pairing of Tiffany Cheng and Joulia Likhanskaia advanced to the finals of the 2015 ITA New England Regional this weekend hosted by Middlebury College.

How It Happened

• Cheng and Likhanskaia were phenomenal, dropping just three games in their first four matches in advancing to the title match.
• Their victories including a pair of 8-0 shutouts, including against Bowdoin teammates Pilar Giffenig and Sarah Shadowens in the semifinals on Saturday
• Their run came to an end in the finals where they were defeated 8-4 by Wesleyan's top doubles pairing of Yu/Chong.
• Giffenig and Shadowens came into the tournament unseeded and made a fantastic run to the semifinals, defeating duos from Wellesley, Amherst and Middlebury.
• Tess Trinka had the top performance for Bowdoin in the singles bracket, winning three matches to reach the quarterfinals
