ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine Field Hockey team's Emily
Corbett and Casey Crowley were named America East defensive player and
rookie of the week today.
Emily Corbett (Listowel, Ontario) was named defensive player of the
week after finishing with two wins and played a key role in net for the
Black Bears in Sunday's 2-1 win over Northeastern. She had six saves all
in the second half to preserve the win.
Casey Crowley (New Plymouth, New Zealand) was named rookie of the
week by the America East conference. It's the third week in a row that a
Black Bear has received this award. Crowley was able to net a hat-trick
against Bryant and had a key assist versus Northeastern for a total of
seven points on the week.
The University of Maine is celebrating its 150th anniversary in
2015. In conjunction with this, the athletic department will celebrate
150 student-athletes achievements over the next year. You can follow
