CASTLETON, Vermont – The Thomas College women's tennis team fell to
Castleton University 8-1 on Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic
Conference match. The loss drops the Terriers to 1-7 on the season
while the Spartans improve to 7-1.
In singles play, Lindsey Allen won the only match for the Terriers 6-4, 6-2, and Olivia Mora was defeated 6-4, 6-1. In third singles, Amelia Guimond fell in both 6-0, 6-0, and number four singles Mia Navarro lost 6-3, 7-5. Katie McAllister was defeated in the five spot 6-0, 6-0, and Jordyn Taylor lost 6-2, 6-0.
Allen and Mora began with a loss in their doubles match 8-4, followed
by Guimond and Navarro-Rivera falling in the number two doubles 8-1.
The duo of McAllister and Rachel Gillis were defeated 8-3 in number three doubles.
The Terriers will play again in Vermont on Sunday, September 27
against Green Mountain College for a 12:00 pm conference matchup.
