Thorndike, Maine - Morse traveled to Thorndike on Friday and lost a tough one 3 – 1 to Mt. View. The home team came out aggressively and opened the scoring quickly with just five minutes gone in the first half. The Shipbuilders gradually were able to find their game and tied the score with eight minutes remaining as Aubrey Martin fired an Amanda Gagne through ball past the keeper.
Unfortunately for the Shipbuilders, an aggressive goalie clear led to an open goal which Mt. View took advantage within the first minute of the second half. Morse pressed for the equalizer nearly finding it a number of times but with nine minutes left Mt. View put the game away as they finished a corner kick. Alika McMurrin played well in her first time in the Morse goal.
Next for Morse is a trip to Oceanside on Tuesday.
