Thomas, Bachry receive weekly awards from CCC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- University of New England women's cross country runners Tiana Thomas and Jessica Bachry have been selected as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Runner of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the period ending September 27.

It is the second such accolade this season for Thomas, who clocked a 5K time of 18:28 at the Pop Crowell Invitational to take the 1st-place spot in the 129-runner field by 31 seconds over teammate Emma Robidoux. The Nor'easters continued to dominate as a squad, tallying their third victory in as many races of 2015 with a score of 18.

Bachry put forth a strong showing in the event, placing 13th with a time of 20:31. The first-year was the eighth UNE runner to cross the line in the meet.
