Bowdoin Sweeps Colby in Non-Conference Wednesday Night Volleyball

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team rolled to its fifth consecutive victory on Wednesday down, sweeping Colby in a non-conference match at Morrell Gymnasium, 3-0.

The Polar Bears improve to 7-3 overall this season while the Mules drop to 7-5.

How It Happened
  • Bowdoin controlled the first two sets, 25-9 and 25-14 before battling to a 28-26 win in the third to clinch the victory.
  • Tied at 26 apiece in the third, Hayley Wahl sealed the win with consecutive services aces for the Polar Bears.
  • Christy Jewett put home 13 digs to go with seven digs in the victory.
  • Bowdoin was bolstered by eight kills from Erika Sklaver while Katie Doherty (20 digs) led the Polar Bears defensively.
  • Quincy Leech had 30 assists, 11 digs and two blocks in the win
  • Colby was led by five kills from Kim Donaldson and Karolina Serhan.
  • Erin Maidman had eight digs to lead the Mules defensively while Brooke Detwiler had a team-best nine assists.
Up Next
  • Both teams return to action with big NESCAC games this Friday evening with Bowdoin hosting Conn. College at 8:00 p.m. in Morrell Gymnasium.
  • Colby will travel to Amherst for its next match on Friday evening at 8:00 p.m.
