RUTLAND, Vermont - The Thomas College women's tennis
team defeated Lyndon State College 8-1 in North Atlantic
Conference (NAC) action on Sunday afternoon at the Vermont Sport and
Fitness Club. Thomas swept the doubles action and took five of the six
singles matchups to earn its second victory overall and second NAC
contest.
Lindsey Allen defeated Alex Reedy in top flight singles, 6-2, 7-5. Thomas' Olivia Mora made quick
work of Paige Vlahos in No. 2 singles with a straight sets victory, 6-1, 6-0.
GMC's Jada Lee and the Terriers' Amelia Guimond took third singles to three sets with Lee coming out on top 4-6, 6-0, 10-6.
Thomas sealed their victory by winning the final three singles matches. Mia Navarro ousted Salima Mahamoudou in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Katie McAllister took down Ruby Santiago 6-0, 6-2, while Jordyn Taylor notched a victory in sixth flight singles with a pair of 6-1 set victories over Hseng Leng.
Allen and Mora defeated Reedy and Vlahos 8-2 in
No. 1 doubles. The same result was had for Thomas' pairing of Guimond
and McAllister in No. 2 doubles action as they spun a victory over Lee
and Mahamoudou, while Navarro and Gillis handed Santiago and Leng an 8-0
loss in third flight doubles.
Thomas will host its next match when it faces MCLA in conference play on Saturday at 1 p.m.
