Southern Maine Women’s Basketball To Host Shooting Clinic: November 1

GORHAM, Maine  – The University of Southern Maine Huskies women's basketball team will host its annual Huskies' Shooting Clinic on Sunday, November 1 from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m.  This popular and well-attended clinic is a perfect way to get a little extra instruction before the season begins.
 
The clinic will be hosted at the Costello Sports Complex on the Gorham Campus of the University of Southern Maine and is open to girls in grades 3-10.  The fee for the clinic is $35 in advance and $45 the day of the clinic. Confirmation of your registration will be done via email.

            Under the direction of head coach Samantha Allen, the USM women's basketball staff and players will instruct participants in an outstanding day of basketball and shooting fundamentals.  Participants should bring a lunch and are required to wear sneakers and basketball appropriate clothing.  Participants will receive instruction and coaching in a variety of drills including a lay-up series, shooting off the dribble, shooting off the pass, post shooting, creating your own shot, and more.

            Since joining the NCAA in 1985, the University of Southern Maine Huskies women's basketball program has participated in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament 26 times in its 29 eligible seasons.  Winning at least 20 games over the last in 33 of the last 35 seasons, the Huskies have also won either the Little East Conference regular season or tournament championship 24 times in the 27-season history of the conference.
