Castleton, Vermont - Husson had their perfect season end in its inaugural season following an 7-2 North Eastern Athletic Conference East (NEAC East) lost two Castleton (Vt.) on Saturday at Castleton University.
Castleton (8-1, 4-1 NEAC East) takes over the number two spot in the conference standings after winning five of six singles matches. Meridith Blessard lost to Sara Novenstein 3-6, 6-2 and 6-1. Charlotte Bednarz lost to Jackie Lisak on the three-line 6-0 and 6-0. Ciara Bannister defeated Kelsey Pelletier in No. 4 singles 6-2 and 6-0. Elizabeth Aldey lost to Dianne Benedicto in No. 5 singles 6-0 and 6-2. Samantha Dubay lost to Kirsten Kruk on the six-line 6-0 and 6-2.
Katie Pratt defeated Meg Susslin 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, and 10-5 in No. 2 singles for the lone singles play win on the day by a Husson (5-1, 4-1 NEAC East) player.
Pratt and reigning NEAC East Rookie of the Week Blessard defeated Novenstern and Lisak 8-2 in No. 1 doubles. Bednarz and Dubay lost to Kruk and Bannister on the two-line 8-2. Adley and Pelletier lost to Susslin and Benedicto 9-8 (7-5).
Husson hosts defending NEAC Champion Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, October 3rd. First serve is set for 1 p.m. ET.
