With the win Maine improves to 5-1 on the season while Harvard drops to 1-2 overall.
Maine scored first in the game with a goal from Nicole Sevey (Skowhegan, ME) for her second of the season to give the Black Bears a 1-0 lead 19 minutes into the half. One minute later, Samantha Wagg (Victoria, Australia) scored her first goal of the season off of a Jessica Skillings (Skowhegan, ME) assist to give Maine a 2-0 advantage.
Emily Corbett (Listowel, Ontario) played the first half for Maine in goal stopping two shots and helped the Black Bears carry a 2-0 lead into half-time.
Emma Cochran (Surrey, British Columbia) started in goal for the Black Bears in the second half.
Danielle Aviani (Surrey, British Columbia) was able to capitalize off of a tipped shot to score her fourth goal of the season, the assists came from Sevey and Katie Bingle (Selby, England) to bring the score to 3-0 Black Bears.
Five minutes later, Libby Riedl (Port Moody, British Columbia) was able to score her first goal of her career to bring the Black Bears their fourth unanswered goal.
Maine continued their scoring ways, Samantha Wagg scored her second goal of the day with the assist coming from Libby Riedhl to give Maine a 5-0 edge.
Eight minutes later Ella Mosky (Victoria, British Columbia) scored her first career goal for the Black Bears and helped push Maine's lead to 6-0.
Harvard was able to get on the board with two minutes remaining in the game, off of a Elizabeth Jacobson goal that brought the score to 6-1 Maine.
Just before the final horn, Delaney Baxendale (Wilton, CT) also scored her first career goal and gave the Black Bears a 7-1 win.
Maine returns to action September 17 as they travel to Quinnipiac.
