Women's Tennis Looks Strong in Season Debut at Stony Brook Classic

Tess Trinka went unbeaten in singles play at Stony Brook
STONY BROOK, New York - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team opened its 2015-16 campaign by playing in the Stony Brook Classic this weekend.

The Polar Bears performed well as the lone Division III squad in the field.

Highlights
  • Against a field that included Division I programs Army, Navy, Stony Brook, St. John's, Hofstra and Farleigh Dickinson, the Polar Bears recorded a 17-8 overall record in singles and doubles play.
  • Sophomore Tess Trinka led the way for Bowdoin by going unbeaten in singles play.
  • First-year Maddie Rolph lost just one match in her collegiate debut

Up Next
  • After an off weekend, Bowdoin will look to make some noise at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association New England Regional hosted by Williams College beginning on September 24.
