The Huskies took an early 2-1 lead after the doubles matches were completed. Lindsey Allen and Olivia Mora defeated USM's top pair, 8-6. Amelia Guimond and Mia Navarro were defeated 8-6 in second doubles.
In singles play, the team split singles three matches each. Allen took first singles 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 while Mora won 6-1, 6-3.
The Red and Black return to the court on Saturday, taking on Lyndon State in their second North Atlantic Conference match of the season. The match will be played at Harold Alfond Athletic Center at 1:00 pm.
