The Polar Bears (2-2-2, 1-2-2 NESCAC) play to their second 0-0 tie in as many games, while the Panthers (4-1-1, 1-1-1 NESCAC) were held scoreless for just the second time this season.
How It Happened
- Connor Keefe had a pair of promising looks in the opening half, ringing a shot off the left post 10 minutes into action and beating the goalie with eight minutes left, but was unable to convert.
- Middlebury came out with a promising scoring opportunity in the first three minutes of the second half with a service by Deklan Robinson that was punched out by Stevie Van Siclen. Jeremy Barovick collected the rebound and sent his shot wide right as the game remained scoreless.
- Van Siclen denied Middlebury's Greg Conrad of a bid as the Bowdoin sophomore dove to preserve the shutout with 25 minutes left to play. Van Siclen came up with another big save for the Polar Bears as Kirk Horton headed the ball on net following a corner kick feed from Adam Glaser in the 81st minute.
- Greg Sydor made four stops for the Panthers, including one in each overtime to keep Bowdoin off the board. Van Siclen tallied six total stops for the Polar Bears, making one save in overtime.
- Bowdoin outshot the visitors 15-11, with both teams taking five corner kicks.
- Middlebury hosts Hamilton in NESCAC action on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
- Bowdoin travels to Husson on Wednesday evening for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
