Bangor, Maine - Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country finished fifth overall at the Husson Harrier Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Saxl Park. The Mariners were led by sophomore Zachary Kinsman (Lebanon, N.H.) who placed 7th overall out of 105 finishers, with a time of 28:53.7, on the 8k course.
Chase Hughes (Yarmouth, Maine) placed 23rd with a time of 30:45.6, followed by Spencer Boonstra (Amston, Conn.) in 25th (30:56.7), Tristan Brown (Oqunquit, Maine) in 27th (31:13.4) and Victor Skorapa (Freeport, Maine) in 29th (31:17.2), to round out the top five runners for the Mariners.
New England College claimed the team victory, placing two runners in the top three, followed by Maine-Farmington in second. NEC's Scott Shaw picked up the individual victory with a time of 27:51.6.
Maine Maritime returns to action next Saturday, September 12th when they compete at the University of New England Invitational in Biddeford, Maine. The Mariners will return to Saxl Park later this season, on October 31st for the North Atlantic Conference Championship.
