Rockland, Maine - In Thursday's class B field hockey action, September 24th, 2015 Oceanside took on Nokomis of Newport in Rockland, Maine.
Varsity field hockey match was tough as both teams were fighting for control of the ball. Oceanside's Taylor Hamlin scored her teams only goal in the first half of play. It wasn't until the second half when Nokomis #7 was able to send one pass the Oceanside goalie and players to tie the game up at 1-1. Rest of the second half resulted in no goals from either team leaving it locked up in a tie at the end.
The tie resulted in a overtime where Nokomis #23 was able to send one pass the goalie from the top
of the circle. Nokomis was excited about their win, winning against Oceanside puts them in the #6th spot for class B heal point standings. Nokomis is 4 wins and 4 loses so far this season.
It was a heartbreaking loss for Oceanside as they wasn't able to capitalize on scoring first in overtime. Despite not winning, Oceanside players still a great, hard fought game against visiting Nokomis.
Oceanside will be back in action as they take on Mt View, Saturday, September 26th, 2015 at 10am in Thorndike, Maine.
Nokomis takes on Mt View at 4pm Tuesday, September 29th, 2015 in Thorndike, Maine.
