Camden Public Library Events October 1 through October 15

Thursday, October 1

John & Rachel Nicholas at the Camden Library Coffeehouse, 7:00 pm. $7 admission. Join us for great songwriting, harmonies, and a toe-tapping ensemble. David Dodson and Mike Nickerson will join the group on guitar, vocals, standup bass, and harmonica.


Friday, October 2

Fall Outdoor Book Sale under the tents at the Camden Public Library, to benefit the library’s book fund and programs. 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.


Saturday, October 3

Fall Outdoor Book Sale under the tents at the Camden Public Library, to benefit the library’s book fund and programs. 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Harbor Arts & Books Fair, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, in Camden’s Amphitheatre and Harbor Park. Over fifty artists, artisans, and craftspeople display their exquisite work in individual tents. The arts and crafts have been selected by a juried process so the quality is exceptional, varied, and delightful.


Sunday, October 4

“Who is Africa?” discussion series, hosted by the Camden Conference. 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. What are the forces that have shaped and continue to affect the cultural, political, and economic landscape of Sub-Saharan Africa? Part One of the discussion series.


Wednesday, October 7

Regular meeting of the Midcoast Stroke Support Group, 10:00 am at the Camden Public Library, all are welcome.


Thursday, October 8

Heather Moran, author of “Camden and Rockport Revisited,” will give a gallery talk and book talk at the Camden Public Library at 7:00 pm. The Camden-Rockport Historical Society and the Camden Public Library will co-host a display of vintage articles from the collection of the Historical Society at the library throughout the month of October, as part of “Discover History Month.”


Friday, October 9

Coastal Senior College class, “How the Modern Documentary Can Shape the Public Mind,” 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. The class meets weekly for six weeks, contact the Senior College to register.


Tuesday, October 13

Maine Historical Society presents “Mystery History Photos,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, part of the library’s “Discover History” month.


Thursday, October 15

Midcoast Audubon Society hosts local bat enthusiast Annie Kassler with an update on “How Bats are Doing in Maine,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.
