BANGOR, Maine - Husson remained undefeated in its inaugural season Saturday following a 7-2 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Johnson State (Vt.) at Bangor High School tennis courts.
Meridith Blessard gave Husson (3-0, 2-0 NAC) a victory in No. 1 singles after a 6-3 and 6-2 win over Anette Kaminsk. Katie Pratt defeated Kali Covell 6-2 and 6-1 on the No. 3 line. Sarah Smith dropped Nicole Monick 6-2 and 6-2 in No. 5 singles. Elizabeth Adley took out Jordan Miller 6-4 and 6-2 on the No. 6 line.
The two wins for Johnson State (1-5, 0-2 NAC) came on the No. 2 and No. 4 line. Katherina Van Woerkom defeated Charlotte Bednarz 6-3 and 6-0. The Eagles' Kelsey Pelletierdefeated Jana Somero in the first set 6-1 but lost the next two 6-2 and 10-8.
Blessard and Pratt defeated Kaminski and Van Woerkom in No. 1 doubles 8-2. Bednarz and Smith dropped Covell and Monick 8-2 on the two-line. Pelletier and Emma Fontainedispatched Somero and Fogg 8-4 in No. 3 doubles.
Husson hosts Lyndon State (Vt.) on Sunday at 11 a.m. ET.
