Colby moves to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in NESCAC play, while the Camels drop to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the league.
Fortier finished with two goals and one assist to reach 90 career
points (37 goals, 16 assists). She has five goals and three assists in
five games, while Strage has six goals this season.
Heidi Halsted had all three goals for Connecticut College, which led 1-0 at 15:25 of the first half on Halsted’s first tally.
Strage added an unassisted goal of her own at 19:03 to tie the
contest. Fortier then put the Mules up 2-1 at halftime when she scored
at 25:12 from Elizabeth Zusi.
Halsted tied the game at 2-2 about six minutes into the second
half, but the Mules went up again when Strage scored from Fortier at
47:36.
Halsted got her hat trick with an unassisted score at 58:06 and the
Camels were right in the game despite Colby dominating in shots and
corners.
Fortier’s game-winning score gave the Mules a much-needed NESCAC
win heading into a non-conference home game with Maine-Farmington on
Wednesday at 7 p.m.
