Sea Dogs Close Out 2015 Season with 10-4 Win

Portland, Maine - The Sea Dogs clubbed 17 hits - including a season-high seven doubles - and closed out the 2015 season with a 10-4 win over the New Britain Rock Cats (69-71) on Monday afternoon at Hadlock Field.  The Sea Dogs end the 2015 campaign with a 53-89 record.  The game also was the last ever for the New Britain Rock Cats, who will move to Hartford in 2016 and become the Yard Goats.

A day removed from hitting for the cycle, Manuel Margot went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles, an RBI, and a run scored.  Margot finishes the season on a six-game hit streak, upping his average to .271 to end the season.

Aaron Wilkerson (W, 4-1) allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits in six innings.  Matt Flemer (L, 7-11) allowed nine earned runs on 15 hits in 4.2 innings, tying a Rock Cats franchise record for hits allowed in a game.

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the third, the Sea Dogs sent all nine to the plate and scored five runs on six hits off Matt Flemer.  Carlos Asuaje hit a three-run homer and finished the season with eight home runs and a team-high 61 RBI.  Portland added three more runs in the fourth on five more hits to take a 9-2 lead.

Jordan Weems had a season-high four hits, including two doubles and two RBI.  Weems raised his average from .177 to .224 with his 4-for-5 performance.  All nine Sea Dogs had at least one hit, while six of nine scored at least one run and six of nine drove in a run.

The game was played in front of a crowd of 6,364 at Hadlock Field.  368,291 fans came through the Hadlock Field gates this season, the third highest total in the Eastern League.

2016 Sea Dogs tickets go on sale on November 7th.  The 2016 Sea Dogs home opener at Hadlock Field will be April 14, 2016 against the Hartford Yard Goats, just 220 days away!
