Bowdoin Men's Lacrosse Holds Off Trinity For Seventh Straight Victory

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team held off a late Trinity rally to win their seventh consecutive game on Saturday, 10-8, at a rainy Ryan Field.

The Polar Bears, ranked 14th in the latest Division III poll, improve to 7-1 (4-1 NESCAC). The Bantams drop to 2-6 (1-4 NESCAC). The seven-game winning streak is the longest for Bowdoin since winning ten consecutive games to end the 1993 season.

  • Goals from Ben Knaus and Seth Bird gave the visitors at 2-1 lead after one period of play
  • The Polar Bears took command with a 6-1 scoring advantage in the second quarter, including a three-goal spurt in the final 1:46 of the half
  • Goals from Matthew Crowell, Clayton Wright and Shawn Daly gave the hosts a 4-2 lead they would never relinquish

  • Bowdoin's defense clamped down in the fourth quarter to secure the win as the Polar Bears forced eight turnovers and goaltender Peter Mumford was forced to make just one save
