GREENE, Maine -- The No. 1 nationally ranked Bates women's rowing team played host to the University of New Hampshire and Middlebury College in its final home regatta Sunday on the Androscoggin River, winning all four races.

Bates accumulated a 10-2 record over the four races: varsity eights, second varsity eights, novice fours and novice eights. The Bobcats fielded two boats in second varsity eights, taking first and third place out of four.

The Bobcats hope the regatta will serve as a good tuneup for next Saturday's big event, the New
England Rowing Championships in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Bates' first varsity eight covered the 2,000-meter course in 7:24.2, defeating UNH (7:35.2) and Middlebury (7:57.0).

Bates' W2V8 was first (7:29.2) and its W3V8 was third (7:57.7) in the second varsity eights races, with UNH (7:44.3) taking second place.
