WHITINGHAM, Vt. --- Thomas College has earned the No. 2 seed in the 2016 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division Men's Tennis Championship Tournament, which will be hosted by Castleton University on Saturday, April 30.

Thomas closed the regular season with eight straight victories to finish at 8-7 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The Terriers will take on No. 3 Castleton (10-3 overall, 4-2 NAC East), while regular-season champion Colby-Sawyer (11-5, 6-0) will square off against No. 4 seed MCLA (3-6, 3-3).
The semifinal round will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the winners meeting in the final round an hour after the opening matches are complete. Please note, all dates and times are subject to change.
The NAC East champion will take on the NAC West champion, which will also be determined on Saturday, April 30. The date of the crossover championship is scheduled for Sunday, May 8, at Tri-City Tennis (Latham, N.Y.). The overall champion will then receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship.

*Beginning with the 2010 season, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has partnered with the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) in the sport of men's and women's tennis. The NEAC will compete as associate members of the NAC in men's tennis, while the NAC will compete as associate members of the NEAC in women's tennis. Members from each conference will be divided into an East and West Division for each sport, with each division holding a championship and the two divisional champions then facing off to determine the conference champion. The conference winner for each sport will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships.
NAC members Castleton, Colby-Sawyer, Green Mountain, Johnson State, Lyndon, MCLA and Thomas will compete in the East Division. NEAC members Bryn Athyn, Keuka, Lancaster Bible, Penn College, Penn State Abington and Penn State Berks will play as associate members of the NAC in a West Division.
