New Ventures Maine Announces Free Summer Workshops and Classes

Augusta, Maine—July 21, 2026—New Ventures Maine has announced free online workshops and classes throughout the remainder of the summer. Classes are designed to help people in Maine start a business, build their career, and manage their money. The full class schedule is accessible online at newventuresmaine.org/classes.

Upcoming classes include NVME’s comprehensive business planning class.

Venturing Forth: Business Planning for Entrepreneurs will meet Tuesdays from

September 1 to November 17 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. online. Venturing Forth is a 60-hour course in business planning covering these topics in depth: the customer, competition, marketing, record keeping, taxes, financing, legal aspects, and more. At the end of the class, participants will have a complete business plan. An application and individual interview and attendance at the orientation are required for acceptance into the class. Tuesdays, August 18 – September 15 (5 sessions), 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. online.
Gain the skills and confidence you need to stretch your money, pay your bills, reduce debt, save, plan for retirement, and set personal financial goals with a plan to achieve greater financial stability.

Building Confidence
Tuesdays, August 11, 18 & 25, (3 sessions), 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. online.
Whether you are navigating recent changes, looking for a job, starting a business, or simply want to be more confident, join this class to assess your confidence and learn concrete tools to help build your confidence and keep it strong.
