Eagles Pick Up A Win on the Road Against Green Mountain, 20-11

POULTNEY, Vt. –  The Husson University men's lacrosse team defeated the Green Mountain College men's lacrosse team 20-11 in North Atlantic Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Eagles Game Field.

Brandon Corbo notched 10 points in the win with five goals and five assists for Husson (5-8, 5-2 NAC). Brandon Bosse and Brett Martin each notched four goals while Bosse added an assist. Vinny Visconti led the team with three caused turnovers while also recording three goals and two assists. Nick Iannetti was 19-of-30 at the face-off x and added a game-high nine groundballs to his line.

Green Mountain (2-10, 2-5 NAC) was led by a career-high four goals from Will Durant who also
added an assist. Nate Laymon, David Gerken and Chris Surdam each scored a pair of goals with adding two assists and a team-high seven groundballs. Nick Parsons scored a goals and added four assists and six groundballs.

Husson outscored the hosts 10-3 in the first half as Corbo had three of his five goals in the half.
Green Mountain outscored the visitors 5-2 to open the second half and whittled the lead down to five goals on two different occasions, but that was as close as it would get as Husson pulled away thanks in part to fresher legs.

Matt Martin made a pair of saves in the first half to earn with Nick Zavorotny playing the second half and also making two saves for Husson. Carl Diethelm made nine saves in the loss for GMC.

Green Mountain will finish up the regular season on Tuesday against Castleton as it awaits confirmation of its place in post season play. Husson will also finish up the season on Monday with a battle against Maine Maritime at 7:00 p.m at Boucher Field.
