Dream Fulfilled: Margot Hits for Cycle on Field of Dreams Day

Margot Becomes Fourth Sea Dog to Cycle and First Ever at Hadlock Field
Portland, Maine - Manuel Margot became the fourth Sea Dog ever to hit for the cycle and powered the Portland offense to a 10-5 win over the New Britain Rock Cats in front of a sellout crowd on Field of Dreams day at Hadlock Field.

Margot went 4-for-5 with five RBI, setting new season highs for hits in a game and RBI in a game.  He's now hit safely in five straight games, going 12-for-21 with two home runs and 10 RBI.  The cycle was was the first regular season cycle ever by a Sea Dog at Hadlock Field in team history (Ross Gload, '00 exhibition game).

Kyle Kaminska (1-0) earned the win with 3.1 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two.  Harrison Musgrave (3-4) suffered the loss, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits in six innings.

The Sea Dogs offense got started early.  With the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the first, Keury De La Cruz came through with a two-run single off of Musgrave to give Portland the 2-0 lead.

Margot struck in the second inning, hitting a two-run home run down the right field line to make it 4-0 Sea Dogs.  It was Margot's second straight game with a homer and third of the season.

New Britain tied things up with four runs off Mike McCarthy in the fourth inning.  Will Swanner hit a three-run home run to tie the game, his 17th of the season.

Portland took a 5-4 lead on a bloop RBI double by Margot in the bottom of the fourth.  After the Rock Cats tied it at five in the fifth, the Sea Dogs took a 6-5 lead in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI double down the left field line by Dustin Lawley.

Margot hit an RBI triple in the sixth to make it 7-5 Portland, then hit a single over the right fielder's head in the eighth to score Forrestt Allday from first base and complete the cycle.

The Sea Dogs complete the 2015 season tomorrow afternoon, first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM.  Aaron Wilkerson (3-1, 2.86) is scheduled to start for Portland against Matt Flemer (7-10, 3.34) for New Britain.  Tickets are still available and can be purchased by phone at 207-879-9500 or online at seadogs.com.
