Eddie Emerson started on the mound for the Black Bears while, Matt Curry received the start for the Owls.
The Black Bears scored five runs in the bottom of the second. Jonathan Salcedo grounded to third
and scored one run for a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Danny Casals hit a towering home run to left field driving in three and the Black Bears increased their lead, 4-0. Kevin Stypulkowski later singled through the right side driving in the fifth Black Bear run in the inning, 5-0 Black Bears.
In the bottom of the third, Jonathan Salcedo drove in his second RBI of the day hitting a sacrifice fly to center, increasing the Black Bear lead to 6-0.
For the third consecutive inning, the Black Bears tallied a run this time a sacrifice fly from Brett Chappell to center field for a 7-0 advantage.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Black Bears scored four runs on three hits. Danny Casals lead off the scoring with an RBI single to left field, increasing their lead, 8-0. Jeremy Pena hit a single to left field that scored two after they advanced by error, bringing the score to 10-0. Kevin Stypulkowski then hit a sacrifice fly to center increasing the lead to 11-0.
Jonah Normandeau received the win on the day, appearing in two innings, not allowing any hits and striking out two. He improves his record to 1-2.
The Black Bears return to action this weekend as they travel on the road for a three game series against America East opponents the Hartford Hawks. Game one is the first of a doubleheader, with first pitch set for 12:00 p.m.
