St. Pierre, Beavers Edged by Husson at Home

FARMINGTON, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington men's lacrosse (0-6, 0-3) senior Travis St. Pierre (Sebago, Maine/Mountain Valley) scored a pair of goals to lead the team in a 18-4 North Atlantic Conference loss to Husson University (3-5-3-0) on Wednesday afternoon at Prescott Field.

The Beavers were playing defense for most of the opening half, but only trailed 4-0 after the opening period. After the Eagles added two goals to start the second quarter, St. Pierre got UMF on the scoreboard just under the nine-minute mark.

The Beavers drew an Eagles penalty and cashed in. Cameron McAllister (Yarmouth, Maine/Hampden Academy) passed off to his left to a wide-open St. Pierre, who with two steps fired a laser into the net for his seventh goal of the season.

Justin Roberge (Sanford, Maine/Sanford) tallied UMF's first goal of the second half with 12:26
remaining in the third quarter. Roberge battled through the long sticks of Husson defenders and lined a shot into the back of the cage.

St. Pierre came through with his second goal of the game to open the fourth quarter.  St. Pierre started the scoring attack behind the Eagles' goal and ran back in front of the net give himself a better angle. On the shot, St. Pierre came with an over-the-top shot for the score while getting knocked to the ground by the Eagles' defense.

McAllister registered a goal of his own with 10:22 left in the game. The senior finally had some luck go his way as four of his seven shots on clanked off the goal post, but his sixth shot of the afternoon found nothing but net.

Caleb Carr (Augusta, Maine/Cony) made 17 saves for UMF, including a busy third quarter with seven stops.

Husson's Brandon Corbo charted a game-high four goals on eight shots. Trent Sell and Brooks Gay added three goals apiece.

UMaine-Farmington starts the first game of a three-game conference road trip on Saturday at Green Mountain.
