Kevin McAvoy (2-0) earned the win in his home debut for Portland, allowing two earned runs on just three hits in 5.2 innings, walking one and striking out five.
With two Sea Dogs on base and one out in the first inning, Rainel Rosario (3-4, 2 2B, 2 R, RBI) doubled off of Yard Goats' starter Antonio Senzatela (L, 1-1) to put Portland on the board. After Henry Ramos (1-3, R, BB) popped out, Jake Romanski (2-4, 4 RBI) delivered a two-out, two-run single to give the 'Dogs the 3-0 lead.
Senzatela (2+ IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB) would leave in the third inning with an apparent injury and
was replaced by Carlos Hernandez (3 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER). The Sea Dogs doubled their lead in the fourth inning off of Hernandez with an RBI groundout from Romanski, and RBI double by Tim Roberson (1-4, 2B, R, RBI), and an RBI single from Jose Vinicio (2-4, RBI).

The Yard Goats made it interesting in the top of the eighth, scoring three runs off Luis Ysla (1.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 K), highlighted by a two-run home run by David Dahl (2-4, HR, 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI), his league-leading fifth of the season.

Shepherd earns first Double-A win
Trenton, N.J. - Trenton's Lane Adams led off the eighth inning with a solo-homer for the game's only run, as the Thunder clinched the series win, 1-0 on Thursday night at Arm & Hammer Park.
Matt Tracy (1-0) earned the win for the Thunder (4-2), working 1.2 innings on one hit. Rob Wort (0-1) yielded the homer to Adams and took the loss for the Sea Dogs (3-4).
Henry Ramos and Jose Vinicio each had 2 hits for Portland, who left seven, and went 0-for-5 with runners-in-scoring position.
Justin Haley fanned six for Portland over 4.1 innings, leaving the game with two in the fifth inning. Haley worked out of a jam in the fourth inning with two on and nobody out, fanning the final three.
Brady Lail tossed 6.2 innings for Trenton on four hits, three walks and four strikeouts.
Trenton took two of three in the series and has won 11 of the last 14 from Portland at Arm & Hammer Park.

Shepherd earns first Double-A win
Trenton, N.J. - Tim Roberson cleared the bases with a two-out double in the 10th inning, as the Portland Sea Dogs (3-3) beat the Trenton Thunder (3-2), 6-3 in extra innings on Tuesday night at Arm & Hammer Park. Portland snapped a two-game losing streak and evened the series at a game apiece.
Portland reliever Chandler Shepherd extended his perfect innings streak to four in Double-A, earning the win for Portland. The righty fanned three over two innings. The Sea Dogs' pitching staff fanned 16 batters and allowed one runner to reach scoring position.
The rally in the 10th began with back-to-back walks to Jantzen Witte and Rainel Rosario. Henry Ramos laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt. Alex Smith was removed for Mark Montgomery, who issued a free pass to Jake Romanski. After a Jordan Weems strikeout, Roberson's three-run double was crushed to right-center field.
Mitch Atkins worked around a one-out single, fanning three in the 10th to earn his first save in the Red Sox system.
Portland starter Aaron Wilkerson fanned six batters over five innings pitched. Wilkerson had a streak of 129.2 innings without allowing a homer, yielding a solo-shot to Jake Cave in the second. Portland took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning against starter Jordan Montgomery. Tzu-Wei blooped an RBI single and Mike Miller had a sacrifice fly. Rosario scored the third run in the fifth on a wild pitch.
Trenton tied the game in the seventh off Simon Mercedes. Cave single and Dante Bichette Jr. hit a two-run homer to right field.
Lin, Roberson and Romanski led Portland's 10-hit attack with two hits each.
