The Mules improve to 11-2 overall and will head to Middlebury for
an 11 a.m. start Saturday. U. New England had its four-game win streak
snapped in falling to 9-5.
Kendall Smith, who earned the NESCAC Player of the Week award for
last week, had another big game with two goals, five assists, four
ground balls, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers. She leads the
Mules with 18 goals and 16 assists for 34 points.
McGara DeWan added three goals and one assist, while Grace McVey
finished with three goals. Abby Hooper and Bridget Horwood both had two
goals and one assist. Lexie Perticone added one goal and two assists.
Kate Burkett, Brittany Chin and Chrissy Coveney also tallied.
The Mules opened up a 13-0 halftime lead and coasted in the second half.
Colby goaltender Sam Burch made three saves. Jackie Brokaw and
McVey both added three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Maddie
Hatch and Chin also had three ground balls. Becca Moore contributed two
caused turnovers.
