With 194 points, Bates finished second by just three points to host UNH (197), and the Bobcats outscored Division I Maine (168) and Division III Lesley College (11).
Top-three performances for the Bobcats included:
- First-year Tyler Harrington (Haverhill, Mass.) won the javelin throw with a top effort of 187-8, putting him in sixth place on Bates' all-time performance list and in 22nd place in the national Division III rankings.
- Sophomore Adedire Fakorede (Newark, N.J.), this week's NESCAC Field Performer of the Week, placed first among 17 competitors in the discus throw with a top effort of 160-8, establishing a new career best. Fakorede also finished second to UNH junior Michael Shanahan in the hammer throw with a top effort of 173-5 and was fifth in the shot put (45-7).
- Senior Nick Margitza (Waterville, Maine) finished first in the shot put with a top effort of 52-5.5, nearly three feet beyond runner-up Nicholas Ritzo of New Hampshire. Margitza also placed third in the hammer throw (170-11).
- Junior Jeffrey Jones (College Station, Ga.) won the triple jump with a top effort of 45-3.
- Junior Michael Horowicz (Montclair, N.J.) won the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:03.05, nipping sophomore teammate and runner-up Ben Tonelli (Seattle, Wash.) by a mere 0.11 seconds.
- Running his first outdoor 800 meter race of the year, sophomore Jack Kiely (Severna Park, Md.) placed second out of 19 men in 1:55.46, moving into eighth place on the team's all-time performance list in the event. Kiely was followed in third place by junior Patrick Griffin (Harvard, Mass.) in 1:56.36.
- Bates placed second to New Hampshire in the 4x100 relay, with first-year Isaiah Seetram (Ajax, Ontario), Nichol, first-year Ryan Corley (Oakland, Calif.) and junior Colin Kraft (Northborough, Mass.) registering a time of 43.84 seconds.
- Bates placed second to Maine in the 4x400 relay, with sophomore Rob Flynn (Bedford, N.H.), first-year Michael Somma (Colts Neck, N.J.), first-year Mark Fusco (Cheshire, Conn.) and Griffin finishing in 3:23.64.
- Sophomore Mickoy Nichol (Dennis Port, Mass.) finished third in the long jump (20-7.25) and third in the triple jump (40-10.25).
- Sophomore Garrett Anderson (Raleigh, N.C.) placed third in the pole vault (13-11.25).
- Kraft placed third in the 200 meters in 22.95 seconds and third in the 100 meters at 11.26 seconds.
