WSOC: Husson takes out Nor'Easters, 2-1‏

BANGOR, Maine - Taylor Fortin's goal in the 60th minute ended 23 years of frustration for Husson against the Nor'Easters, giving the Eagles a 2-1 triumph over New England (Maine), their first win in the series since 1992, which also was a 2-1 decision. The Green and Gold also end a 13-game losing streak to the Nor'Easters.
The Eagles are unbeaten in their first three matches this year, which ties the school record set by the 2008 unit, after holding the visitors four goals below their season average Wednesday.
New England (2-1) scored first in the eighth minute, as Jackie Dickerson fed Devon Wolfenden, who from 10 yards out put the ball in the back of the net for her first goal this season.
Husson (2-0-1) answered in the 14th minute with its first goal against the Nor'Easters since 1997
when Alison Boulier (2) chipped the ball over the head of Brielle Robinson to tie the match. Katie Cyr was credited with an assist on the play.
Fortin's (2) game-winner came in the 60th minute when she used her head to redirect an Emily Berry throw-in into the bottom right corner of the net.
Fortin, Leah Hibbad and Sydney Costa each had three shots for the Eagles. All of Costa's shots were on goal.
Becca Murphy totaled three shots in the loss.
Reigning NAC Defensive Player of the Week Kayla Gordon (2-0-1), who went the distance in the win, made seven stops from her goalkeeper position.
Robinson (2-1) tallied five saves in 90 minutes of action as the netminder for the Nor'Easters.
Husson travels to Bowdoin (Maine) on Sunday for a 2 p.m. ET kickoff.
