Men's XC Finish Third Overall at Bowdoin Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country finished the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday with five runners setting personal best times in the eight kilometer race.

UMF placed third overall as a team and led all competing NAC schools. The team claimed the third spot with 94 points, which was three ahead of Lyndon State. The squad combined for a 2:25:43 time and averaged a 29:09 mile.

Robert Hollis (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) crossed the line with an overall time of 27:12.50, which was only 13 seconds away from grabbing a top ten spot.

Conor Wagner (Bangor, Maine/John Bapst) followed Hollis in 19th place with a time of 27:45.33 and Josh Wynne (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) came in 37th at the 29:35.79 mark. The team was packed together at the end of the run with Austin Gatcomb (Wrentham, Mass./King Philip), David Doering (Portland, Maine/Deering), Corey McCullough (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield), and Kadir Hassan (Lewiston, Maine/Lewiston) finishing in consecutive order.

UMaine-Farmington will compete at the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational next Saturday, hosted by Gordon College.
