FH: Husson drops contest at Springfield‏

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - Springfield (Mass.) defeated Husson 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at Stagg Field. The Eagles fall to 0-2 all-time against the Pride, with both matches coming away from Winkin Sports Complex.
Husson (1-4) controlled much of the play early on in the half, maintaining much of the possession in the Pride's defensive third.  However, Springfield (3-0) finally broke through for the game's first goal with 6:25 left in the half as Maggie Kennedy backhanded home a shot off an Amanda Nusbaum rebound to put the hosts ahead.
Kennedy's goal proved to be a spark for the Pride's attack, as just 1:34 later, Katie Gill found Kristina Krull along the left goaline extended. Krull made the most of her first appearance this season, cracking a shot off the far post that riccocheted into the back of the cage.
Gill added to the Pride's lead just 4:22 in the second half, buring a shot from five yards out off a defelected Nusbaum shot.
Timarie Villa needed to make just four saves in goal to earn the shutout victory.
Anne Marie Provencal was credited with seven saves in the loss for Husson.
The Eagles held a 12-10 advantage in penalty corners. Five different players had one shot on goal.
Husson begins NAC play Saturday, Sept. 26, at Colby-Sawyer (N.H.) at 1 p.m. ET.
