Bates (0-2) will play two more matches on Saturday at MIT, taking on the host Engineers at 11am, followed by Cabrini at 1pm.
Bates' attack percentage rose in each set of the Endicott match, peaking in the tight third set, where the Bobcats hit at a .154 rate. Junior Nicole Peraica (East Northport, N.Y.) scored a team-best eight kills with two blocks, followed by junior Chandler McGrath (Seal Beach, Calif.) with seven kills and sophomore Lisa Slivken (New York, N.Y.) with adding six kills.
Junior setter Hannah Tardie (Orange, Calif.) notched a double-double with 13 assists and 13 digs in the match, while sophomore setter Jacqueline Forney (Bloomington, Ind.) added 10 assists. Senior Laryssa Schepel (Flemington, N.J.) totaled a match-high 14 digs.
Tori McIntyre led Endicott (6-0) with a match-high 10 kills, Hayley Knapp posted nine kills and three blocks, and Alleigh Vandemerkt passed out 21 assists.
In the Springfield match, Bates' offense continued its momentum, attacking at a .280 rate in the first set and .333 in the second set, but Springfield (6-1) was still too much, committing just one error in the first set and attacking at a .410 rate for the match. Lauren Holt led the Pride with 12 kills and Marnae Mawdsley dished out 23 assists.
For Bates, McGrath totaled nine kills with two blocks, with Peraica and Slivken adding seven and six kills, respectively. Schepel had 12 digs while Forney passed out a team-high 15 assists, with Tardie adding 10. Senior Mary Deneen (Windsor, Conn.) tallied two solo blocks.
