Tips for a Toxic-Free Lifestyle
Rockport, Maine - Lisa Pohlmann, the Executive Director of the Natural Resources Council of Maine, will lead an informative talk about everyday toxins and their effect on the environment and human health on Tuesday, May 22nd at Merryspring Nature Center at 12:00 noon.
With today’s global economy, industrialized food system, and ever-expanding prevalence of technology in our lives, we may not always be aware of the chemicals around us -- some of which may be harmful. NRCM’s Pohlmann will address the threats some of these toxic chemicals may pose to wildlife and human health. She will share what her organization is doing to address these threats, as well as outline the steps you may take to reduce toxic threats to your lifestyle.
Lisa has been with the Natural Resources Council of Maine since 2000. Before becoming Executive Director, she served as Deputy Director of NRCM. Prior to that, Pohlmann was Executive Director of New Hope for Women, a domestic violence organization based in the Midcoast. Lisa earned her Masters from the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine. She now resides in Jefferson, where she pursues her lifelong love of the outdoors by hiking, biking, kayaking, and skiing all across Maine.
This presentation is part of the Spring Talk Series at Merryspring, which is being sponsored by The First (www.the1st.com).
