The Best of the Boston Comedy Festival” Brings Laughter to The Grand!

ELLSWORTH- The Grand presents the standup comedy of Jim McCue, Chris Pennie and George Hamm in “The Best of the Boston Comedy Festival” on Saturday, June 16th at 7:30pm.

For over a decade the Boston Comedy Festival has been the “Comic’s Comedy Festival,” showcasing the most innovative up and coming stand-up comedians in the country, the go-to for the industry looking for their next big comedy star. It is a great opportunity for audiences to get an inside look at the best comics of today in a city legendary for producing comedy genius. And now the Grand is excited to be presenting a showcase of some of the best from the festival including-

  • Jim McCue
    Jim McCue- Jim has been featured on Comedy Central, Comcast Comedy Spotlight, NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” and “Roughing It” on NESN in his native New England. Jim also founded and currently runs The Boston Comedy Festival, New York Comedy Competition and Cheers Comedy Club.
  • Chris Pennie- Chris has been entertaining New England crowds since 2005. In 2012, Chris has been a finalist in CMTs Next Big Comic. In 2011, he has been a finalist in the Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival and the Dick Doherty's Beantown Comedy Riots as well as being invited to the Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta.
  • George Hamm is well known to Maine audiences as a frequent visitor to Portland's Comedy Connection. Hamm has performed his comedy routines across the U.S. including the Bellagio in Las Vegas, the Improv in Los Angeles, The Comedy Store and the Laugh Factory in Hollywood as well as the Laugh Factory in Hawaii. He has opened for comedians Jay Mohr, Robert Schimmel, Bob Marley, Kevin Nealon, Anthony Clark and Harland Williams among others.
