MOTORCYCLE EVENT TO BENEFIT BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS


Rockland, Maine - All bikers are invited to join the  on June 10 as they hold its First Annual Poker Run to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine (BBBSMCM).  Motorcycle clubs from all over Maine have been invited to participate, and anyone with a motorcycle is welcome to join in.  The rain date for the event is June 24.

Riders can sign in for the event starting at 10 AM at the Time Out Pub, 275 S. Main St., Rockland.  The cost is $20 for the first hand and $10 for a second hand.   A scenic ride through the Midcoast area will culminate at the Steel Brethren Clubhouse at 1097 Western Rd., Warren, where there will be entertainment, food, and raffles for many door prizes donated by local businesses, plus a 50/50 raffle drawing.

“We hope to have a large turnout for this ride, and are happy to donate the proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine,” says event organizer Jim Batty of the Steel Brethren Motorcycle Club.  “We’d like to have it become a yearly event.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to provide children in Knox, Lincoln, Penobscot and Waldo Counties facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.  Money raised from this event will be used to support BBBSMCM's Big/Little matches.  Each match costs about $1,000 annually to create and support.  Presently, BBBSMCM serves 560 youth in the four counties.
