Monthly Perennial Gardening Series Begins at Merryspring

Monthly Perennial Gardening Series Begins at Merryspring

Camden/Rockport, Maine - Camden gardener and Merryspring volunteer Wendy Andresen will present the first of her monthly lecture series on “Tending the Perennial Garden” at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, June 5 at 12:00 noon.

This always populargardening series will demonstrate techniques and tips to help your perennial garden thrive throughout the year.   During the first installment on June 5, Wendy will cover the basics of perennial gardening — including pinching, pruning, grooming, and supporting plants — with an interactive tour of Merryspring’s perennial beds.  Her presentation will reference Tracy DiSabato-Aust;s essential garden manual, “The Well Tended Perennial Garden,” copies of which will be available for purchase along with an assortment of garden tools and accessories.

Participants for this Tuesday Talk should meet outside at Merryspring’s gazebo at noon.  Guests are reminded to wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing for this event.

This presentation is part of the Spring Talk Series at Merryspring, which is being sponsored by The First (www.the1st.com).

Admission to the Tuesday Talks is free to Merryspring members and children, with a nominal $5 fee for non-members.

Merryspring is a member-supported, non-profit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Rt. 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden. For more information, call Merryspring at 236-2239
