PAINT A SILVER BULLET IN HALLOWELL

PUBLIC INVITED TO PAINT A SILVER BULLET IN HALLOWELL ON JULY 1ST
Hallowell, Maine -- The Kennebec Valley Art Association, in partnership with with SpinOff Studios, Spindleworks of Brunswick and Gardiner graffitti artist Matt Demers, invites neighbors to help decorate a 'silver bullet' on Sunday, July 1st from noon to 3pm at Refreshments Cafe at 223 Water Street in Hallowell.

The public painting session will be outdoors, in the parking lot of Refreshments Cafe, so wear painting clothes and sun screen and bring drinking water! The theme for this project is “bottles”; and everyone is invited to “paint a bottle” on the Silver Bullet, no artistic experience necessary and all ages are welcome. Painting supplies will be provided. This event coincides with another Hallowell event, the 6th Annual Outdoor Art Festival and Hallowellness Day.  So make a day of it: come to Hallowell to make some art, see some art and be well!

SpinOff Studios' proposal was one of six selected in 2012 to participate in ecomaine’s “Recycling is a Work of Art”, an annual art contest inviting the community to paint on a Silver Bullet recycling container.  The SpinOff team will receive $500 for materials to decorate the 'silver bullet' recycling container.  Ecomaine, the regional waste management company that serves more than 40 communities in southern Maine, invited artists, arts groups and schools to participate in the contest earlier this year.
