Mid-Summer Classic Set for July 11th in Reading, PA
Portland, Maine - Fan voting for the 2012 Eastern League All-Star Game got underway on Friday, May 25th. Fans are able to select one position player and one pitcher from their hometown team to the Eastern League All-Star Game. The 2012 Eastern League All-Star Game will be played at First Energy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania; home of the Reading Phillies, on Wednesday, July 11th.
To vote for your top Sea Dogs' players log onto www.seadogs.com. Eastern League All-Star voting will run from May 25th through June 24th. The final Northern Division and Southern Division All-Star rosters will be announced on June 28th.
The Eastern League All-Star Game features the top players from the Northern Division facing the top players from the Southern Division. Each roster consists of 25 players. The results from the fan voting will be used to select one position player and one pitcher from each of the 12 Eastern League clubs to the All-Star roster of their respective division. The remainder of the 2012 Eastern League All-Star Game rosters will be determined through Eastern League field managers, media personnel, and league officials.
Former Sea Dogs' Eastern League All-Star representatives include Clay Buchholz (2007), Jon Lester (2005), Jed Lowrie (2007), Will Middlebrooks (2011), Hanley Ramirez (2005), Jonathan Papelbon (2005), and Kevin Youkilis (2003).
