Boyer, Morrison, Levensalor now PVC champions
Foxcroft, Maine - Foxcroft Academy track stars Donnie Boyer, Fern Morrison, and Cody Levensalor helped the boys’ and girls’ track teams place second and fourth out of 14 teams at the PVC Small School Championship Meet held at Foxcroft Academy on Saturday afternoon. Boyer ’13 repeated as champion in the high jump (besting last year’s winning jump of 5-08 by four inches) and added PVC titles in the 110 meter hurdles and the triple jump to his resume. He also finished third in the 300 meter hurdles. Morrison ’15 became PVC champion in the 800 meter run, finished as runner up in the 400 meter dash, and placed fifth in the 100 meter dash. Cody Levensalor ’13 won the shot put with a throw of 43-02.50.
Overall, the boys’ team racked up 93 points to finish as runner up to Orono while the girls’ team scored 36 points to place fourth behind Orono, John Bapst, and Central.
On the boys’ side, Ryan Wang ’14 took fourth in the 100 meter dash, Zach Smith ’12 placed third in the 400 meter dash, Louis Lafache ’13 finished fourth in the discus and fourth in the shot put, Alex Stevens ’13 placed fourth in the pole vault (clearing 7-06), Corey Bjornson ’14 took fifth in the discus, and Pete Boyer ’15 finished sixth in the 300 meter hurdles. Stevens, Pete Boyer, Colby Bombero ’12, and Wang were runners up in the 4x100 meter relay, Garrett Hilton ’12, Bombero, Pete Boyer, and Smith finished third in the 4x400 meter relay, and Garrett Hilton, Tyler Hilton ’12, Sebastian Zepeda ’15, and Julian Zepeda ’15 took third in the 4x800 meter relay.
Chelsie Oldfield ’12 had an excellent meet for the girls’ team, finishing second in the 800 meter run, fourth in the 1600 meter run, and sixth in the 3200 meter run. Monica Miles ’13, Morrison, Evelyn Henderson ’15, and Chastity Vainio ’14 also earned a point by placing sixth in the 4x100 meter relay.
