National Nursing Home Week! May 13 -19
Bangor, Maine - EMHS is proud to recognize and thank the residents and staff of our nursing homes as we celebrate National Nursing Home Week ®, which begins on Mother’s Day, May 13 and continues through May 19, 2012.
Lisa Harvey-McPherson, RN, MBA, MPPM, vice president of EMHS Continuum of Care commented, “We salute the staff at EMHS nursing homes that devote their time to providing exceptional patient care and services. This week is about celebrating both the residents and staff that make our nursing homes a special place to live and work.”
National Nursing Home Week ® is sponsored by the American Health Care Association (AHCA). This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Journey,” which recognizes residents in long term settings that live life to the fullest and the dedicated staff who care for them.
During the week, nursing homes throughout EMHS will be planning activities to help commemorate National Nursing Home Week ®. Activities are designed to foster intergenerational contact, strengthen family relationships, and encourage volunteerism by individuals and organizations.
National Nursing Home Week ® gives us a chance to honor our residents, as well as the families, staff, volunteers, and community members that support our senior services. EMHS provides quality nursing home care throughout our region at Lakewood Continuing Care Center, Ross Manor, Stillwater Healthcare, Dexter Health Care, Katahdin Health Care, Colonial Health Care, and the Aroostook Health Center.
