First Lady to Attend Military Panel & Discussion for Volunteers of America Northern New England
Augusta, Maine - First Lady Ann LePage will attend a panel discussion titled: “After the Uniform 2012: Servings the Veterans who Served Us,” at the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday, May 08, 2012 at 8:00 am. The event will be held in the Wishcamper Center on campus.
The event will be with some of the nation’s top leaders to discuss solutions to the problems facing America’s returning veterans. The event is being put on by Volunteers of America Northern New England, and is the first event in a planning three-year convention on the critical challenges facing veterans.
“As Maine’s First Lady, my top priority has been serving our military men and women, and their loved ones,” said Ann LePage. “I feel it is important to hear this discussion, in order to learn more about the needs of our veteran’s, and how we can better serve them after they return home. It is our responsibility as Americans to come together, and support our military community, both while they are deployed, and when they return home.”
The panel is part of the Live Simulcast National Press Club Speakers Series, and will include a national panel, as well as a panel in Portland, Maine.
